Allianz Insurance plc is one of the largest general insurers in the UK, and part of one of the world’s foremost financial services providers, Allianz SE.

HarknessKennett was approached in 2006 by David Keel, Head of Communications, to provide support in developing Allianz’s annual Management Conference. Since then, HarknessKennett have helped the Allianz leadership and communications teams to design and deliver the Conference for four consecutive years.

Approach

For each conference, we have worked closely with CEO Andrew Torrance, Directors and the Communications team to design a conference that engages managers across the company in the long-term business strategy. We meet with all speakers and develop a conference agenda, theme and set of core messages that are agreed by the senior team. Through one-to-one speaker meetings, support and rehearsals, we ensure that key messages feature consistently throughout the conference. Conference programmes have combined key note presentations, story or ‘thank you’ walls, video newscasts, cascade briefing support and interactive voting.

Outcomes

Evaluation of each conference has demonstrated that managers have left the meeting confident and equipped to engage their own teams in the business strategy and how their area of the business would contribute to this strategy.
