Howard Bentley

Howard BentleyFollowing an initial career in BBC local radio, Howard has had a varied and distinguished retailing career within Sainsbury’s and Savacentre, where he worked across the organisations in Retail, Training and Development, HR, Finance, Quality Development and Trading. His roles included, training and development of Senior Management, HR management, Business Improvement and Business Planning and Change.

During the last 15 years, Howard has been in the thick of supporting business leaders to practically achieve their strategic plans through better approaches to business planning, leading change and engaging people. He works in all types of organisation - private/public, big/small, paid/voluntary. Experienced from shop floor to board room and facilitating groups from 6 to 2000.

Howard has a reputation for unconventional thinking and generating impressive results through creativity, energy and challenge. He is an accomplished videographer and author of multimedia experiences.

He has developed and facilitated leadership development and change management activities within:

Assignments include introducing new strategies, improving customer relationships, culture change, implementing new structures and new ways of working.

Howard has been an advisor to the National Campaign for Learning, the DfE for the development of National Vocational Qualifications and the DTI as an industry representative supporting the development of ‘Learning Organisations’. In further work with the DTI, Howard has advised on supply chain learning.

In 2000, Howard achieved a Masters Degree in ‘Total Quality Leadership’, which studies the use of Learning Organisations, Quality approaches and human brain science in the leadership of change and development in business.
