Eliminating low engagement among line managers
Rentokil Initial is the world’s leading commercial pest control and commercial hygiene services provider. To deliver its services, it employs around 1,800 local service teams, operating in 70 countries – that’s more than 30,000 people in total.
Aiming to be recognised as an attractive employer, the company put together a programme to help line managers better engage local teams. HarknessKennett was chosen to design and deliver the vital Internal Communications and Recognition elements of this programme, which allows line managers to review their communication approach – whether digital, written or face-to-face.
The programme was piloted in Australia, Scandinavia, and the UK before wider roll-out. We were a key partner in delivering the initial launch, and developing the ‘train the trainer’ approach.
Research conducted pre- and post-training shows that the leaders who attended have engagement scores some five times above the company’s overall average. And the trend is looking even more positive – Rentokil-Initial was listed by indeed.co.uk as the UK’s best private sector company to work for in 2019.
“The data from this programme demonstrates the impact. Huge thanks to the HarknessKennett team for their input and getting this training off the ground”
Group Talent Director, Rentokil Initial
